Hannah update
We went back to the plastic surgeon today. She's allowed to eat soft foods again--yea!! She was so much happier this evening than she's been! There's still a small hole in the front of the palate, close to the gumline, that will need to be fixed in later surgeries, but this was expected by the surgeon.
We'll go to the audiologist and the speech therapist that's a member of the cleft palate team at the hospital in two weeks and get moving on those things. I've been concerned about Hannah's lack of desire to even try talking, so we're going to try and go after that a bit more aggressively. She has, in the last two days, started making one syllable, and we see that as a small breakthrough. In about three months, we'll have an entire day there at the hospital that they call a "team day." We'll then see every specialist on the cleft palate team on the same day and they'll meet to discuss the plan.
With regular Benadryl and allergy eye drops, the swelling in her eye is going down. Her pediatrician (whom we saw yesterday) thinks the breakout on her chest and stomach is some type of viral response to her immune system being a little depressed from the surgery. In a couple of weeks we'll go back and have that checked again.
Everyone else is doing great--looking forward to Columbus Day weekend!! :) Have fun on your cruise, Mom and Grandma (don't forget to take some pictures for us).

Great to hear of Hannah's progress with the surgery.
Although I hadn't heard her vocalize that many spoken words, she did seem to show a desire to sing. I imagine the speech therapist will also suggest music.
