Here's a few pictures of the family--some of Brian's birthday, all pre-surgery for Hannah. She's quite my laundry helper now and she loves, loves Uncle Mark's guitar!
Brian's had a birthday parade, per Gammy and Aunt Denise's recommendation. Family came in for dinner and cake and he opened up a really cool Hyper Dash game (great idea for getting some extra exercise, by the way). And, of course, Uncle Mark played the guitar for us. Then the next weekend we went for ice cream at the ice cream parlor in town with Gammy and opened a couple more presents. On his actual birthday, we were in the hospital for Hannah's surgery, so Grandma and Grandpa made a little cake for him. Dad and Grandpa are working on putting together his new basketball goal now out in the garage--quite an extensive project we're now understanding! They're estimating about 4 hours to put it together!
Christian and Faith both had their first soccer game this past weekend. Christian scored the first and only goal for his team! It was awesome!! Faith technically scored, too, but the ref retracted the goal. What happened is the goalie had gotten the ball in his hands, then set it down and walked back about 7-8 feet. I told Faith and the other forward that it was now a free ball, so they could kick it into the goal. Faith ran up and kicked it in, but the ref didn't give us the goal. We celebrated with brownie delights anyhow. The guy at the restaurant made one of them look like a soccer ball and the other like the goalie--all with whipped cream and chocolate syrup!
