Update on Hannah

Hannah was released from the hospital yesterday! The ICU doctor thought it would be Monday or Tuesday before we could go home, but we got Hannah out of bed, taking tentative steps right as the nurse was on the phone with the neurosurgeon. The neurosurgeon then said we could go home!

Both neurosurgeons that were working on Hannah during her surgery told us that the cord was very, very tight and they were glad they went ahead and did the surgery. The nurses in ICU said she was "angelic!" We told them they should see her when she's not drugged with valium and morphine and she's trying to put her socks on. Our girl definitely has a touch of a strong will. I suppose it might be hard to survive in this family without one!

She slept through the night last night and got herself out of bed this morning. She was in a bit of pain, but nothing like what I expected. She's been walking around the house playing and smiling. Praise God!! She can't do any steps or get on the potty herself, but those are easy things to help her with. She won't go back to school for at least ten days, until our follow-up visit with the neurosurgeon.
