Hannah's surgery

Hannah is having surgery to untether her spinal cord at 6am a week from today. I'm taking her over to the hospital today to get some pre-op labs drawn and then to her pediatrician on Tuesday to get her surgery clearance. We sure would appreciate everyone's prayers to cover her next Friday!

We went to a new speech therapist's office yesterday for an initial eval. It's much closer to home, so we're excited about that!

Christian had two cavities filled on Monday--baby teeth, so his adult teeth still have a chance at being pristine. :) The dentist said Faith's jaw still wasn't growing correctly and would be difficult to treat. He's recommending another go-round with the headset treatment she went through two years ago. Michael and I talked with her ENT about it when she was there last week and he recommended we see an oral surgeon to get his opinion on it. We're not too hip on paying thousands of dollars for the treatment again if folks aren't really sure how it will turn out, but we're checking into it with the oral surgeon and another recommended orthodontist that's on the teaching staff at the medical university here. Great news though, is that her hearing has been restored to normal! We were really excited about that!!

I'm posting an interesting article sent from our adoption agency on how the Ethiopians celebrate Christmas. They celebrate on January 7th, so Merry Christmas to our baby boy over there who might not be born yet!
