Hello again from Barcelona,

Another great day here.  ‘Course any day together with my wonderful wife is a great day.

We set the alarm to wake up this morning—the first time since we’ve been here, and the last, but we wanted to catch the 0945 train to Figueres, a town about a two hour ride north.  After breakfast, we arrived at the train station, and though I thought I’d allotted plenty of time, we just barely made our departure due to some intricacies in the process.

We visited the Theater-Museum of Salvador Dali there, which was, as expected, an experience by turns delightful, terrifying and just plain weird.  The whole place was designed by him, and it not only displays his works but IS a work itself, with baby heads poking out of walls and bathtubs on the ceiling and such like.

In keeping with our adopted Barcelona habits, we took a nap after arriving back at our hotel at 5pm, and woke up an hour later, ready for the rest of our day.  We hiked around Montjuic, strolling through lots of parks and sculpture gardens, taking a cable car up to the castle at the  mountaintop, walking the castle’s perimeter, then strolling a little more down to the metro.  Then to an interesting macrobiotic vegetarian restaurant for dinner (I’d looked the place up online—it’s open for dinner 9 to 11 pm), and back to the hotel by a little after 11.

Note from Nancy:  just a little note to let my Faith and my Christian know that I could never have done all that we did in Ethiopia without them (and Gregg, too :)).  You kids are a beautiful support and comfort to have with me and I'm thankful for the blessing you are in our lives!  We are having a wonderful time, but we also miss you five!  Give Gammy and Grandma extra hugs today!
